Who we are
ReImagine Builders has developed over 1,000 Calgary basements since 2011, at a 4.9-star average across 140+ Google reviews and eight consecutive HomeStars Best Of awards. Dozens of basement companies have come and gone in that time. We're still here, under the same ownership, earning our reputation one basement at a time.
We didn't get here by being the biggest. We got here by deciding, early and deliberately, to rebuild what a basement development should feel like — designed before you sign, planned before we start, and delivered by a team you actually get to know. It started with one person convinced the whole process could be done better.
ReImagine Builders started with Bo Fric — a Calgary entrepreneur, not a tradesman. He founded Rentfaster.ca, still the province's leading rental website today, earned his real estate licence in 2006, and flipped his first house that same year. That's how he fell into construction.
After watching his parents struggle through a slow, stressful, overpriced renovation, Bo couldn't shake the feeling it could be done better. He started a renovation company in 2010; a brutal first job and a departed partner nearly ended it before it began. He carried on — cleaning job sites, painting, learning the build with his hands — and turned a business mind on an industry that had run the same way for decades.
Over 1,000 basements later — plus landmark flips like The Gargoyle House and the ReImagine Ranch — that conviction is still the standard the whole company runs on.

What we stand for
Everything we do rolls up to the same idea Bo had watching his parents' renovation go sideways: this can be done better. Here's what "better" means to us.
Most renovations run on handshakes, rough estimates and a start date that drifts. We rebuilt that into a designed plan, a guaranteed price, and a schedule booked to the day — before we break ground.
We don't say we'll "keep you informed." We tell you which trades arrive on which days. You see your basement rendered in photorealistic detail before you sign. Specific beats vague, every time.
A move-in-ready date in writing, backed by $500 a week if we miss it. $0 deposit to start. A comprehensive 5-year warranty at the end. Promises only mean something when there's a cost to breaking them.
We resisted the pressure to scale into a faceless operation. You get a team you actually know — named in more than 80% of our reviews — from first sketch to final sign-off.
Built for Tomorrow
In 2026 we did something most established companies never do: we decided to rebuild ourselves on purpose. We call it Reimagining ReImagine Builders — a deliberate, top-to-bottom rethink of how we design, plan, communicate and deliver every single basement.
The conviction behind it is the same one the company was founded on. The trades industry has run the same way for decades, and most of it doesn't actually serve the homeowner. So rather than coast on fifteen years of reputation, we're taking everything we've learned across 1,000+ basements and rebuilding the business around it — aiming to set the standard for what a basement contractor can be, not just match it.
For you, that shows up in concrete ways: sharper, more detailed design you can see before you commit, planning that's clearer and more certain, and communication that's faster and more consistent than the industry has ever offered. Same team, same hands-on values — held to a higher standard, every year.

Personal. On purpose.
The difference clients name most isn't a material or a feature — it's the people. The same team guides your project from first sketch to final walkthrough, with no rotating roster of subcontractors and project managers you never meet.

Bo Fric
Founder & President
Founded ReImagine in 2011 and set the standards the company still runs on today. Before that he started Rentfaster.ca in 2002 — now the largest rental accommodation site in the region — while studying business and entrepreneurship at the University of Calgary, and has developed standout real estate projects including The Gargoyle House and The ReImagine Ranch.

Josh Wallace
Vice-President
Started as a labourer in 2013 and now serves as Vice-President, running all field operations. Every crew and trade reports to Josh, and he's intricately involved in every project from groundbreaking to handover.

Peggy Malinowski
Vice-President
Joined ReImagine in 2015 and rose to Vice-President. Peggy runs much of the company day to day — coordinating every trade, handling high-level client matters, and leading the pre-construction finalization meeting with each client. She's involved in every job we build.

Oscar Fonseca
Lead Designer
Holds a Bachelor of Industrial Design with 25+ years in custom cabinetry, millwork and space planning. Oscar handles your on-site estimate and the preliminary design, rendering your basement in photorealistic detail so you walk through the finished space before you ever commit.

Matt Tubb
General Manager
As General Manager, Matt is second-in-command in the field next to Josh and works as a senior project manager. For most clients he's the first point of contact, and he stays closely involved through the whole build. He was also crucial to the $2.5 million Gargoyle House renovation in Calgary (2024–2026) before returning to focus on basements full time.

Kloe Bay
Office Manager
With ReImagine since 2018, Kloe manages the day-to-day from the office: scheduling, trade coordination, material selections and much more — the behind-the-scenes engine that keeps your build on track.

Jordan Fric
Head of Innovation & Technology
Bo's son, Jordan has been around ReImagine job sites since the week he was born — the home he came back to from the hospital was one of the company's earliest flips. He worked our projects in labour roles from 2019 before moving into business development and technology, where he leads "Reimagining ReImagine Builders," our initiative to rebuild the company around modern AI tools. He's currently studying business at the University of Victoria and works with the team remotely through the school year.

Lei Boc
Project Manager
On the team since 2022, Lei works as a project manager on site — handling day-to-day build work and ReImagine inspections that keep your project on schedule and up to standard.

Shane Vance
Project Manager
Joined ReImagine in 2025. Shane works hands-on across the build — site work, ReImagine inspections and the finishing touch-ups that bring a basement to move-in ready.

Chad Good
Master Craftsman
Chad is the most experienced carpenter and tradesman on staff. He works primarily on our real estate side, and we bring him onto basements when a project calls for master-level finishing or a major problem solved. He was crucial to the $2.5 million Gargoyle House renovation in Calgary (2024–2026) before returning to focus on basements full time.

Jenny Fric
Client Relations
Jenny is often the first friendly voice clients hear when they call, and she helps shape the overall vision and feel of the company.
