The Gargoyle House — a landmark ReImagine Builders renovation in Calgary

Our own projects · Never for clients

Beyond Basements

None of these are basements, and none of them are for clients. They're a few projects we've taken on for ourselves over the years — built by the same team that builds your basement. It's a part of our story, and we wanted to share it.

The Gargoyle House — one of our own projects.

A side of our story we wanted to share.

Every year we take on one or two projects of our own — homes we buy, design, and build start to finish. They began as a way to keep our designers and trades working together between client basements, and over time they've become some of the work we're fondest of. They aren't basements, and they aren't something we offer clients. But they're built by the same people who'll build your basement, and we wanted to share them.

We don't take these on for clients — full basement development is the only service we sell. Think of this as simply a look at what the same designers and trades can do.

Every December, the Gargoyle House earns its reputation.

Pump Hill, Calgary SW · 2023–2026

The Gargoyle House

Calgary's most recognizable private estate — rebuilt by our team.

Four restored concrete gargoyles watch from the rooftop of this 1990 estate in Pump Hill — an address Calgarians know by sight, by story, and from over a million Instagram views of its Christmas and Halloween events. We purchased it in 2023 and rebuilt it over two and a half years: a documented $2.5M+ renovation that touched every mechanical system and every surface.

The headline is the rooftop — nearly 3,000 sq ft of permitted outdoor living supported by twenty-two engineered steel I-beams and fifty-plus LVL beams, with a putting green, outdoor kitchen, and room for three hundred guests. The same designers, tile setters, millworkers, and electricians who built it spend the rest of their year building Calgary basements for our clients.

Columbia Valley, B.C.

The Reimagine Ranch

A mountain acreage designed for sixteen guests and a million-dollar view.

High above B.C.'s Columbia Valley, the Reimagine Ranch is a full-acreage build: heated pool and pool house, par-3 hole, sauna, games barn, and interiors finished to the same spec we put in our clients' basements. It operates as one of the region's most sought-after group stays — bachelor parties, family reunions, golf trips — and every detail was designed and built by our team.

Projects like the Ranch are why our trades stay with us year after year. There's always interesting work, and the standard never drops — whether the room is a mountainside pool house or a basement rec room in Silverado.

Douglas Woods, Calgary SE

The Slide House

The house with a slide from the kitchen to the basement.

Of every project we've built, this one makes people smile the fastest: open a cabinet door in the main-floor kitchen and a tube slide drops you straight into the basement. The Slide House backs onto the golf course in Douglas Woods, and between owner stays it's one of the most-requested family stays in the city — almost entirely because of that slide.

It's also the clearest bridge between our company projects and what we do for clients: the slide lands in a fully developed basement, built by the same crew that develops basements across Calgary every week. Fun is an engineering problem too — clearances, fire separation, structure — and we solved it the same way we solve every basement: design first, then build exactly what was drawn.

The same team builds your basement

Same designers. Same tile setters, millworkers, electricians, and plumbers. Same project leadership. The only difference between these projects and yours is the address — we brought this team home to one thing, and that's developing Calgary basements with a design-first process and a completion date guaranteed in writing. If you want to see that standard at basement scale, browse our basement gallery.
