The short version
We collect the information you give us — your contact details and what you tell us about your basement — so we can answer your questions, prepare a quote, and do the work. We don't sell your data. Basement Genius, our AI assistant, runs on Anthropic's Claude; your conversations are processed to answer you, and Anthropic does not use them to train its models. We keep only de-identified question-and-answer pairs to improve the tool. You can ask us to see or delete your information at any time at info@reimaginebuilders.com.
This policy explains how ReImagine Builders("ReImagine," "we," "us") collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information through our website at reimaginebuilders.com and the tools on it, including the Basement Genius assistant. We follow Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
Information you give us. When you request a quote, message us, or chat with Basement Genius, you may provide your name, email address, phone number, your home location or neighbourhood, and details about your basement project. If you upload a photo of your space or a quote from another company, we collect what you choose to share.
Information collected automatically.Like most websites, ours records basic technical and usage data — IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, and referring links — through standard analytics and hosting logs. This helps us keep the site working and understand how it's used.
Basement Genius is an AI assistant powered by Claude, a model made by Anthropic. When you chat with it, your messages — and any photos or documents you attach — are sent to Anthropic's API so the model can generate a response. Under Anthropic's commercial API terms, this content is not used to train Anthropic's models.
To improve Genius and make sure its answers stay accurate, we keep a de-identified log of the questions asked and answers given. These logs are stripped of contact details and are not linked to your identity. If you go on to request a quote, the contact information you enter is handled as described below — not pulled from your Genius chat.
Please don't share information through Genius that you wouldn't want processed this way — for example, financial account numbers or government ID numbers. Genius is a helpful starting point, not a substitute for a written quote or professional advice.
We use the information we collect to:
We only send marketing or promotional messages where you've consented or where permitted under Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), and every such message includes an unsubscribe option.
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run our business, and only as needed to provide their service:
Some of these providers process or store data outside Canada, including in the United States. Where that happens, your information may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions. We choose reputable providers and share only what's necessary. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
We keep personal information only as long as we need it:
Under Alberta and Canadian privacy law, you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or withdraw consent to receive marketing. We may need to verify your identity first, and some information may be retained where the law requires us to keep it.
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working and to understand traffic and performance. You can control cookies through your browser settings; turning some off may affect how parts of the site work.
We take reasonable steps to protect your information using safeguards appropriate to its sensitivity, and we work with providers who do the same. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your data protected.
Our services are intended for homeowners and adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this policy as our business or tools change. When we do, we'll revise the effective date above and, for significant changes, make a note on the site.
