We typically get paid by cheque, bank draft, wire transfer, or e-transfer — we don't accept credit cards. There's $0 deposit, and payments are tied to milestones as the build progresses.

What happens to payments if the project runs past 13 weeks?

That's where our guarantee kicks in. If your basement isn't move-in ready by the 13-week mark, we automatically credit $500 off your final bill for every week we run past it — it comes straight off what you owe, you don't have to ask. Your milestone payments still follow the build; the late credit just reduces the final amount.

Can I use a home equity line of credit to pay for this?

Yes — a home equity line of credit (HELOC) is one of the most common ways homeowners fund a basement, since it lets you draw on your home's equity, often at a lower rate than other borrowing. We don't provide the HELOC (that's through your bank), but it pairs well with our $0 deposit and milestone payments. We also offer financing through our partner financeit.ca if a HELOC isn't the route for you.

Often, yes — a legal suite can be financed like other home improvements (a HELOC or home-equity financing is common), and the rental income potential is part of what makes a suite attractive as an investment. We're builders, not financial advisors, so for the investment math and financing specifics we'd point you to your lender or a financial advisor — but we're glad to talk through what a suite involves and costs.

We can point you in the right direction — for a basement, energy-efficiency rebates would mainly apply to HVAC options and appliances. Those programs are run by government or utilities and change over time, so we'll steer you toward the current options; just let Oscar know it matters to you.
